Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has indicated that Ghana's 2027 Budget could be presented to Parliament in the first week of November 2026, with the government preparing a package focused on job creation, major infrastructure projects and new incentives for businesses.

Speaking in an interview with Ahenfia FM in Kumasi, Dr Forson said preparations were intensifying for the government's next budget and a new economic programme aimed at moving Ghana from economic stabilisation towards stronger growth.

The Finance Minister said the government had spent the first two years of its administration concentrating on stabilising the economy and was now preparing for what it considers the next phase of economic expansion.

Details of the new policies and programmes are expected to be announced in the 2027 Budget.

JOB CREATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Dr Forson said the budget would outline major infrastructure projects alongside policy measures designed to generate employment.

The government also plans to introduce fresh incentives intended to help businesses expand their operations and enter new areas of economic activity.

According to the Finance Minister, these measures will form part of a broader strategy to stimulate investment and accelerate economic growth.

The initiatives are also linked to the government's new economy programme, under which it intends to invest approximately 10 billion dollars to stimulate economic activity.

BUDGET PREPARATIONS INTENSIFY

The Finance Ministry has already begun consultations with ministries, departments and agencies as preparations for the 2027 Budget gather momentum.

Some ministries have appeared before the Finance Ministry to justify their proposed expenditure for the coming financial year.
