President Bola Tinubu says Nigerians who cannot see the achievements of his administration will be given “Jigi Bola” eyeglasses. Speaking to Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Abuja, Tinubu pointed to roads, bridges, investments in children and economic reforms as evidence of progress.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken a swipe at critics of his administration, saying those who cannot see the progress being recorded under his Renewed Hope agenda will be given eyeglasses.
Tinubu made the remarks while receiving leaders and coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors at the State House in Abuja.
The President pointed to roads, bridges, investments in Nigerian children and what he described as a growing economy as evidence that his administration's reforms are producing results.
TINUBU OFFERS CRITICS JIGI BOLA
Addressing supporters, Tinubu joked that Nigerians who refuse to recognise his administration's achievements would be offered Jigi Bola, a reference to eyeglasses.
He argued that his government remains committed to economic reforms despite criticism and the hardship experienced by many Nigerians.
Tinubu told the Renewed Hope Ambassadors that he would not retreat from his reform programme or allow political opposition to distract his administration.
PRESIDENT DEFENDS RENEWED HOPE AGENDA
Tinubu said his administration is working towards building a more stable and prosperous Nigeria through economic reforms, infrastructure development and investment in future generations.
He urged the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to continue communicating the government's policies and achievements to Nigerians at the grassroots level.
The President also stressed the importance of national unity, respect for the judiciary and adherence to democratic principles.
Tinubu's remarks come as his administration continues to face criticism over the cost of living and the economic impact of major reforms.
While the government argues that its policies are laying the foundation for long term economic stability, opposition figures and many Nigerians continue to question whether improvements in economic indicators are translating into better living conditions for ordinary citizens.
With the 2027 general election approaching, the performance of Tinubu's Renewed Hope agenda is expected to remain one of the central issues in Nigeria's political debate.
