AKWA IBOM EX-MILITANTS FORUM BACKS TINUBU FOR 2027, DEFENDS AMNESTY PROGRAMME CHIEF DENNIS OTUARO
The Akwa Ibom Ex-Militants Forum has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027 and passed a vote of confidence in Presidential Amnesty Programme Administrator Dr. Dennis Otuaro. The forum says stability, human-capital development and continued federal engagement are essential to maintaining peace in the Niger Delta, while opposing calls from other ex-agitator groups for Otuaro’s removal. The endorsement represents the forum’s position and should not be interpreted as a consensus among all former militants across the region. Otuaro was appointed by Tinubu in March 2024 to lead the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
