CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR TO LEAVE CNN AFTER 43 YEARS AS VETERAN INTERNATIONAL JOURNALIST PREPARES JUNE 2027 EXIT
Veteran international journalist Christiane Amanpour has announced that she will leave CNN in June 2027 after 43 years with the network. Amanpour joined CNN in 1983 and rose from an entry level assistant to become chief international anchor and one of the world’s most recognisable foreign correspondents, reporting from conflicts including the Gulf War, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq and Rwanda. Her daily CNN International programme will move to a weekly schedule early in 2027 before ending in May, while she will formally leave the network the following month. Amanpour & Company on PBS will conclude at the end of 2026, although Amanpour has indicated that she plans to pursue additional projects after leaving CNN.
