FG moves to digitise tertiary accreditation, warns schools against borrowing staff and equipment
The Federal Government is overhauling accreditation for Nigerian tertiary institutions, with plans to digitally verify lecturers, equipment and facilities and prevent schools from borrowing resources for inspections. Education Minister Tunji Alausa also warned against illegal admissions and exceeding approved student capacity. The government has separately released academic tools allowances covering January to August 2026 for lecturers in federal tertiary institutions.
