ISAIAS TURNS POST-TROPICAL AS POWER OUTAGES SURGE PAST 760,000 ACROSS U.S. SOUTHEAST
Isaias is no longer classified as a tropical hurricane after moving inland from the Florida Panhandle, but its impacts continue to intensify across the Southeast. More than 760,000 electricity customers were without power early Saturday, up by more than 300,000 from VNTV’s previous update, while heavy rain, flooding and tornado threats remained across Alabama, Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. Utility companies have mobilized thousands of additional restoration workers as damage assessments begin.
