SPANISH FOOTBALL MOURNS JESÚS DE MIGUEL AS TENERIFE TEAMMATES CARRY STRIKER’S COFFIN AT FUNERAL
Spanish football gathered in Navahermosa, Toledo, on Thursday to bury Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel, who died following an on-field collision with FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono during a match on Monday. His teammates carried his coffin from San Miguel Arcángel church, while Spain coach Luis de la Fuente, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez and other prominent football figures attended. De Miguel's family thanked supporters for their affection, saying the mark he left on so many people would always remain with them. Spanish police have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
