MAHAMA BREAKS GROUND ON 1,238 ACRE AFIENYA INDUSTRIAL PARK AS GOVERNMENT UNVEILS US$10 BILLION JOBS AND PRODUCTION DRIVE
President John Dramani Mahama has broken ground on the 1,238-acre Afienya Industrial Park in the Greater Accra Region, a free zones enclave designed to host more than 120 enterprises across manufacturing, agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, automotive assembly, logistics and green industries. The project will provide serviced, litigation-free industrial land with power, water, roads and waste treatment infrastructure and will connect to the Tema-Mpakadan railway and Tema Port. It is expected to receive support from the government’s proposed US$10 billion New Economy Programme, although recent official statements contain differing figures on the planned annual investment.
