META SHARES FALL AS INVESTORS QUESTION THE MASSIVE COST OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE EXPANSION
Meta shares fell about 3% in US premarket trading after investors focused on the rising cost of the company’s artificial intelligence expansion. Meta reported strong third-quarter revenue of US$64.6 billion, but free cash flow turned negative by US$2.12 billion as capital expenditure reached almost US$35 billion during the quarter. The company now expects full-year capital spending of between US$135 billion and US$145 billion and says investment will remain aggressive into 2027.
