MOROCCO’S KING SAYS SPAIN MIGRATION DEAL HAS “REACHED ITS LIMITS,” DEMANDS NEW COOPERATION FRAMEWORK
King Mohammed VI has publicly called for a new migration framework with Spain, saying the existing model can no longer adequately handle repeated crises. His remarks follow the July mass crossing into Ceuta and ongoing disputes over the return of migrants, unaccompanied minors and asylum applicants. Morocco says it will present a new strategic document linking migration cooperation with economic development, competitiveness and regional stability rather than relying on the current border-management model.
