PROTESTS ERUPT IN MINNA AFTER DOZENS OF SUSPECTED ILLEGAL MINERS DIE IN NSCDC CUSTODY
Protests have erupted in Minna, Niger State, after dozens of suspected illegal miners died while being held by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps. Reuters reports at least 33 deaths, while Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has said 37 people died. Investigations are underway to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the deaths.
