NAF PLANE NGR 931 VANISHED FROM RADAR AT 9.13 AM AND CRASHED IN AN ONDO SWAMP WITH 32 ON BOARD
Air traffic controllers lost NGR 931 shortly after it left Benin City for Lagos. Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo said radio calls failed and the wreckage was found near the naval base in Igbokoda, Ilaje. The Air Force called it a routine ATR 42 mission and said search and rescue was under way. A controller who would not be named said contact died almost immediately and called that strange. The presidency said all 32 people on board were killed. Families had not yet been given the names.
