PENSIONERS TURN TO TINUBU AS ₦70,000 WORKERS’ TRANSPORT ALLOWANCE EXCLUDES RETIREES
FEPPPAN has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to extend the Federal Government’s new ₦70,000 monthly transport allowance for public servants to pensioners, arguing that retirees also face rising transport, healthcare and food costs. The association is also demanding payment of three outstanding ₦25,000 subsidy-removal palliatives, totalling ₦75,000 for eligible pensioners, while calling for clearer pension harmonisation and improved healthcare support. The government has not yet announced that retirees will receive the new transport allowance.
