RMRDC CHIEF URGES PETER OBI TO DROP 2027 BID AND SUPPORT TINUBU
RMRDC Director-General Professor Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso has urged Peter Obi to abandon his 2027 presidential bid and support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, arguing that Nigeria’s informal North–South power-rotation arrangement should allow the South to complete an eight-year presidential cycle. He also suggested Obi consider joining the APC. The proposal is Ike-Muonso’s political position, not an official constitutional requirement or announced RMRDC policy. Obi remains an active 2027 presidential candidate and has recently argued that opposition candidates should mobilise voters rather than step down for one another.
