ELON MUSK’S SPACEX MOVES TO CHALLENGE AT&T, VERIZON AND T-MOBILE WITH NATIONWIDE STARLINK MOBILE SPECTRUM DEAL
SpaceX has agreed to acquire Grain Management’s nationwide 800 MHz wireless spectrum portfolio as Elon Musk pushes Starlink Mobile toward becoming a major U.S. cellular provider. The portfolio includes up to approximately 14 MHz of low-band spectrum capable of traveling long distances and penetrating buildings. Grain acquired the frequencies from T-Mobile in August 2026. SpaceX plans to combine the spectrum with its satellite and future terrestrial infrastructure, potentially placing Starlink Mobile in direct competition with AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. The transaction remains subject to FCC approval, while the companies have not officially disclosed its financial terms.
