KANO POLICE BLOCK TINUBU MUST GO MEETING AS ORGANISERS ALLEGE POLITICAL INTERFERENCE
Kano State Police blocked members of the Tinubu Must Go movement from accessing a privately rented meeting venue after authorities said about 700 people were expected to attend without prior security coordination. Commissioner Ibrahim Adamu Bakori said the intervention was intended to protect participants and residents and acknowledged that organizers did not legally require police permission to assemble. Convener Abba Hikima rejected the explanation and accused police of political interference. No verified evidence has emerged that the organizers planned violence or were connected to criminal activity.
