UGANDA EXPORT EARNINGS RISE 10.2 PERCENT AS GOLD COCOA AND FLOWERS DRIVE GROWTH
Uganda's export earnings increased 10.2 percent year on year to $1.40 billion in July, driven by stronger shipments of gold, cocoa, flowers and maize. Gold shipments alone rose 35 percent to $788.45 million, with the additional foreign currency earnings potentially providing some support for the weakening shilling.
