
BNI INVESTIGATES SUSPENDED NSA BOSS OVER ALLEGED $623,000 WORLD CUP VISA SCHEME
Ghana's Bureau of National Investigations is investigating suspended National Sports Authority Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah over allegations surrounding a World Cup visa and travel facilitation arrangement reportedly involving more than $600,000. The Minority in Parliament has alleged that some prospective travellers paid as much as $8,000 for assistance connected to travel for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The NSA has categorically denied establishing or authorising any operation to collect money or facilitate visas, while Ampofo Ankrah has denied wrongdoing. The allegations remain under investigation and have not been established as fact.
