Liverpool started strongly and nearly found the breakthrough inside the opening 10 minutes when Ryan Gravenberch played Alexander Isak through on goal. The striker's effort, however, went narrowly wide.

Fulham responded with a major opportunity of their own after Liverpool surrendered possession inside the penalty area. Gonzalo García looked set to punish the mistake, but Jérémy Jacquet cleared his effort off the line.

Victor Muñoz also threatened with a header that was kept out by Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno, while Antonee Robinson headed wide at the other end before the interval.

Liverpool increased the pressure after the restart as they searched for a breakthrough in front of their home supporters.

Leno produced important saves to deny Isak and Dominik Szoboszlai as Fulham maintained their defensive shape and frustrated the hosts.

Despite Liverpool's possession and pressure, Fulham remained dangerous on the counterattack.

Josh King nearly delivered a late winner for the visitors with a curling effort, but Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson produced the save to preserve the goalless scoreline.

Neither side could find a breakthrough in the closing stages, leaving the teams to share the points.
