UNIVERSITY OF GHANA WARNS ACADEMIC CALENDAR COULD COLLAPSE IF GAUA STRIKE CONTINUES
The University of Ghana has warned that its 2026/2027 academic calendar could be severely disrupted if the GAUA strike continues into next week. Registration for the first semester has already been suspended, while student, financial, legal, library and other administrative services have been affected. Level 100 students are currently scheduled to report on October 12–13, continuing students on October 15–18, and teaching is due to begin on October 19. GAUA says about two months of negotiations with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission have produced no significant progress on its outstanding grievances.
